“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” – Oscar Wilde
So what are the essentials? The answer is simple – the things that make us happy. It’s taken me a couple tries to figure a few of these things out, but I’ve come to realize that it is the little things that make life worth living. I truly believe we are all here for a reason; we all serve a purpose. If we feel stuck in an endless, repetitive routine, then we need to get out of our comfort zone and discover the things that are important in our lives.
The truth is that the essentials are different for everyone, but we are all looking for one similar thing – happiness. We need to see the good in what sometimes may seem bad, use the power of positivity to turn things around, and remember that being negative wastes too much energy. Being happy is a million times greater than any bad day, and finding beauty in everything around us will open our eyes to a whole new world. We will start to realize the most important things in our lives.
So what are my essentials? Acoustic guitars. Summer days. Splashes & waves. Soaking up the sun. Iced tea. Blasting the radio. Autumn leaves. Scented holiday candles. Sparkles. Jazz music. Rainy days. Sweaters & skinny jeans. Lattes. Winter love. Christmas lights. Shopping. Writing. Breathing steady. Loving life. Living. Just living.
