The Summer Bucket List

“I haven’t been everywhere but it’s on my list.” – Susan Sontag

How many of us have bucket lists? How many of us have actually tried to accomplish the majority of things on those lists? I know I’ve done my fair share of procrastinating when it comes to check-marking those boxes of things I want to do. Narrowing it down by season or month may make it easier to accomplish. Sometimes a dash of inspiration and some new ideas is all it takes to get us motivated. Let’s see where summer takes us:

  1. Travel – a lot
    • Go to Paris and enjoy the spoils of the Right Bank or visit Rio for the Summer 2016 Olympics. Do something close to home and relax with a staycation. We just need to do something different in a place we’ve never been.
  2. Have a picnic in the park
    • Bring our friends or family out in the fresh air with a basket full of favorites.
  3. Watch the sunrise
    • Whether we are at the beach or in our backyards, watching the sunrise is a beautiful sight. The same goes for sunsets. Doing both let’s us cross another thing off our lists!
  4. Paint balloon darts
    • How many of us have seen The Princess Diaries? There is no question how fun and artistic it is to throw darts at balloons filled with paint.
  5. Tie positive messages to balloons
    • We let the balloons go and our messages will be delivered to someone who will smile at the happy thought.
  6. Watch fireworks
    • Fireworks on the 4th of July is a tradition and no bucket list is complete without them.

The only way to enjoy our lives is to do things that make them more enjoyable. Let’s see how beautiful they really can be.
