It’s Okay to Cry

We’re not all going to have good days. Some weeks we might even feel like the world is out to get us and we couldn’t possibly have one good day out of the seven we get each week. Crying doesn’t make us too emotional or cry babies who can’t handle the curve balls life throws at us. Instead, it makes us strong. Here’s why:

Crying is one way we express our feelings. It’s okay to shed tears. Life isn’t easy and sometimes the easiest way to express how we feel is to start the water works. We don’t have to be sad to cry. I know I’ve been under a lot of stress and pressure lately and those two things combined can do a number on someone.

When there are no words left to say or we are unsure of what to say, sometimes a tear can say all we need. It’s a way to release pent-up feelings and all the bottled up sadness, stress, pressure, or whatever feelings are inside us. Once we release those feelings we can try to regroup, move on, and think about how we can be stronger for next time. Every experience we have helps us shape who we are. Some tears may help us pinpoint parts of ourselves that we like or don’t.
