Staying Positive (featuring Disney)

“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible.” – Walt Disney

Sometimes it’s significantly easier to blog about being positive than it is to act upon it when difficult situations arise. We can have our mind set on being positive, but sometimes it just gets difficult. Here’s how we can stay positive in not-so-positive situations from the help of Disney characters:

Always remember to shake it off. Whether someone throws an insult, a disheartening comment, or anything negative our way, it’s important to let it roll off our shoulders. No witty comeback is worth additional drama.

When other people try to dress us down, we just have to remember that we still sparkle regardless of their opinion. Think about how bare they must feel to dress other people down – not literally, of course. Throw a compliment back at them to dress them up. They won’t be expecting it.

We have to get back up if we fall, and try not take other people down with us.

If we didn’t have anything nice to say, we were taught not to say it at all. We can try to come up with something nice to say in a negative situation or keep our lips sealed.

No matter how bad we want to stick it to some people, we have to remember that violence is no way to solve a problem. We can consider taking our anger and frustration out through healthier ways or any activities that can get our mind off the situation.

At the end of the day, “hatters gonna hat.” We just have to remember to put smiles on our faces and turn the other cheek. Clichés are some of the best ways to get us out of not-so-positive situations.
