Season of Spooks

“There is magic in the night when pumpkin glows by moonlight.” – Unknown

It’s almost time for Halloween! This is the time of year when it’s time to get candy, decorations, and costumes out, and I think I might be more excited about this year. Why? Because I have a blog that helps me show off my creative side and I love taking pictures. What does the short season of spooks have in store for us?

When I was younger, decorating for Halloween was one of the funnest things to do. The front yard had skeletons in the planters, orange lights hanging from every corner, spooky signs, and a charming skeleton butler. It didn’t stop there though. The inside of the house gets decorated too and it couldn’t feel more like Fall with pumpkins, Halloween blankets hanging over the couch, a colorful kitchen, and warm, fresh pumpkin bread cooling on the counter.

Dressing up has always been a tradition for our family. Even if we don’t leave the house one year and just pass out candy, my sisters and I always do something cute and creative. This year I’m Mary Poppins (and I’ve got a Bert 😉 ), but I remember all the pictures hiding in scrapbooks of my Halloween past. One year I dressed up as a belly dancer with a colorful skirt, and I was obsessed with it. I’m pretty sure I wore that one almost all of October. I’ve also been a go-go girl, a pop star, a witch, a bunny, and a bumble bee. The Halloween memories make me smile every year.

What were your favorite Halloween costumes and traditions?
