It’s Time to Move

“Every time you subtract negative from your life, you make room for more positive.” – Unknown

I’m almost certain I’ve used the quote above before because it’s absolutely true and is always relevant. It’s more important than ever to move away from negativity in order to find where it is we think we belong. Sometimes it’s hard to do that when we’re not sure of where we need to move or who we need to move away from.

Is it friends? Sometimes the people we are closest to have the potential to drag us down if they’re not happy. This happens more often than not because their lives are filled with a constant flow of negativity and that’s all they seem to talk about. It can be hard to remain positive when the others around you are constantly perpetuating negativity. All we can do is remain positive and hope that they can see the good side of things. Unfortunately, being positive is a choice and perspectives are not likely to flip overnight.

Is it family? Family can have the same effect as friends because they’re all people, but these people we usually see more often than our friends. We may live with some of family members that just seem to kill our positive mojo. It takes time for others to realize that they can find positivity in their lives…once again, it’s a choice.

Is it the location? Sometimes we aren’t in a place where we like the things that are around us. Maybe it’s time to physically move and change locations to find happiness. I know I would love to live in a place that is drowned in colors (especially from flowers 🌼). Find a way to get what you want or move to somewhere that has what you want.

We need to separate ourselves from the people or things in our lives that bring us down. They only cause more drama and if we think we are losing a “friend” when we say goodbye to someone who actively perpetuates negativity, then we need to redefine the word “friend.”

Good friends don’t try to fill our heads with more negativity, especially when they are aware that we won’t take negativity as an answer. So many people try to challenge that; they try to make us think and feel the opposite. Those people don’t belong in our lives. They’ll be receiving an eviction notice soon. 👋🏼 👋🏼 👋🏼
