Sparkle & Shine

“No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart.” – Unknown

We all have the ability to shine and to be seen. It’s a matter of choosing to light the match to allow the shining to start. We can’t let other people get to us, bother us, or try to break us down, but the people who engage in that sort of behavior are just trying to steal our light. That says a lot about their character and we should strive to be better than that because we are.

We can’t let other people dull our sparkle. If we are having a good day, take a great selfie, or want to celebrate our good mood then we are allowed. There is no such thing as too much positivity – it helps us light the match after all.

There will be plenty of days where we don’t feel like we could possibly shine. We just aren’t having a good day. It’s gloomy outside. Everyone is busy. We start to feel lonely. Maybe we haven’t let out a few tears in a while and feel like it’s time to let some go. Whatever the reason is, we know that there are going to be bad days. But we can’t understand happiness without a little sad. We can’t understand sunshine without a little darkness.

These are gentle reminders that we need to appreciate the good, put smiles on our faces, and have a better day. Sure, there are other people that are going to try to put some negativity in our lives. And there are going to be people who try harder than others to do that.

There’s always going to be someone who comments something that upsets us. We just can’t let it bring us down. Because there are some people in this world that just enjoy stealing other people’s sunshine because they don’t have enough of their own.
