Waiting for the Fog to Clear

“Nature always wears the colors of the spirit.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Last July, my boyfriend and I went to Morro Bay for a day-cation. We wanted to see Morro Rock and get away for the day, but when we got there, the fog was covering almost everything. It was hard to see anything a few feet away. Eventually, as time ticked away, the fog started to roll out.

It took some time before we could see the beauty hiding behind all the clouds. In retrospect, it made me realize that sometimes you have to let the fog pass through before you can see the beauty. As I approach my last semester of Grad school, I imagine there’s going to be a lot of fog. It’ll probably feel like it’ll never pass. At times, I might feel like there is no beauty behind it, but a little bit of time, patience, and perseverance will uncover the beautiful picture I’m meant to see.

The last few months have been hard for me. There’s been so much haze that I’ve felt like there is no way for me to see clearly. Looking through the pictures I took in Morro Bay made me realize that there is always beauty behind the fog…you just have to find it.
