Lighting Up Life

“You can’t judge books by their covers. It’s not your job to create the pages.” – Me

Lately I’ve been thinking about judgements and how we easily pass so many of them. It adds another layer of negativity to our lives that is unnecessary. Instead of passing judgment and spreading unwanted negativity, what if we chose to do other things that added some more light to our lives? Here’s a list of what we can do to make our journey through life a little brighter:

  1. Do something fun.
  2. Try yoga to promote calmness and healing.
  3. Smile.
  4. Blog, write, journal – get your words out there.
  5. Surround yourself with people who have a positive mindset.
  6. Imagine the best case scenario, instead of the worst.
  7. Think optimistically.
  8. Choose to walk in the light even during tough, dark times.
  9. Find your happy place.
  10. Discover that one thing that makes you happy.

I’ve found that when we put too much energy focusing on judging other people it detracts from our own lives. When we pass judgment, we write other people’s stories for them. It’s not our job to write their pages or even predict the content based on appearance. Judgments are usually returned with regret. We should resolve to follow a different path filled with a positive perspective and a happy attitude.
